UDx successor to UMx desktop reader
IOLAN launches the UDx desktop reader, the successor to the widely used UMx desktop reader. The UDx has several important improvements on the UMx. One of these improvements is a semi-permanent USB cable, which prevents the accidental unplugging of the device while still maintaining the option to replace the cable. Another improvement allows a larger reading range for all in LKDS implemented card types (e.g. Mifare® Classic, DESfire® EV1 and Rijkspas). A third revision allows the UDx to be secured to a desk or table.
The UDx can, like the UMx, be used by a system administrator of an IOLAN system to program and read passes. It can also act as a type of logical user access to IOLAN software, third party applications and PCs. Standard additional security is also available through the integrated SAM-slot. The desktop reader is also utilized in the IOLAN access control software packages IDE (IOLAN DESfire® Explorer) and Cardreporter.
